Bubble Skirts....More Than Just A Fad!

Hey everyone! Hope you're having a nice Holiday season!

We just got this news from one of our designers who was just in Tokyo looking for some new styles. This is what she told us:

For the past few years, we've seen many trends come and go. But there is one look that will not go away...the Bubble Skirt. We've thought the bubble skirt would come and go...but the Bubble Skirt will not die! It's been long enough that the bubble skirt has become a basic for the wardrobe. We're seeing lots of mini bubble skirts made in the Big Buffalo plaid worn with varsity or grandfather jackets and leggings.

It's amazing how this look can stay in style! We have a bubble skirt in stock that is perfect for your wardrobe...a little on the formal side, but definitely versatile enough to wear with anything. So make sure you find a favorite bubble skirt...it's finally become a must for your wardrobe!

December Fashion News

Hey everyone, I know that December has already started, but I wanted to give you guys a little bit of news from the front line of fashion! I've included a few pics of new trends, as well as links to our site for anything that relates to new styles. So, here are some December fashion trends and advice:
  • We've seen lots of classic "Holiday party wear," including halter tops, clothing with lots of sequents or liquid metal (see right), and lots of gold and silver belts and accessories. How to make this modest: Wear a halter top with a contrasting shell to give you the layering look (like Emily's Long Sleeve Top). Sequents and liquid metal items should be easy to find in stores right now (we have a few items with sequents for Little Girls and Girls). Accessorize to your hearts content with gold and silver belts, necklaces and earrings (we have the perfect belt here).

  • For casual wear, the new look is long woven flannel shirts with big buffalo plaids, belted with leggings...basically grab your fathers shirt and put a belt around it (Look at the picture on the right and add a belt). How to make this modest: Grab a flannel shirt from your dad, guy friends, or any store and wear it with a layer underneath to allow you to open or close as many buttons as you would like. Grab a pair of your favorite leggings that match the color of your shirt (don't just wear plain old black...get creative!). For those of you who only wear skirts outside, our answer to leggings has been a pencil skirt. It can be worn with leggings, and blends very well with the outfit (we have 2 different pencil skirts, plain black or pin stripe).

  • Big chunky sweaters and hand knits have been seen in the stores, as well as the continuation of the bib tops and ruffled look (check out the previous post on woven shirts for some pics). How to make this modest: Everything is good to go! Just find some sweaters, knits, or bib and ruffled tops (we have many bibed and ruffled items, including Elaine's Ruffled Top, the Tuxedo Top, and many of our woven shirts).

  • People are still wearing Tunic Tops, pairing them with skinny jeans or leggings (See left). How to make this modest: Wear a tunic top with a shell underneath if it's too low cut or not long enough for you (either contrasting or the same color...be creative!). Again, our answer to leggings has been pencil skirts, so grab one when you can!

Colors: Purple, cobalt blue, classic black, brown and red, with lots of silver and greys.

Upcoming Fashion Trends to watch out for:Watch out for: So-Ho Art (paint splatters and paint brush strokes), paisleys and scarf border prints. Start collecting for the "Summer of love" 60s feeling. Dip dye and tie dye.

Have a great month, and all the best luck in staying modest and in style!

Featured Product: Be Precious's Special Ribbed Tank

One of our really good friends (and "camp mother" for her summer camp) asked us to make a ribbed tank that was "modified" for modesty. She was tired of wearing ribbed tanks backwards to stay modest. So, what we did was take the basic ribbed tank that you can find in any store, raised the neck, and thickened the shoulder straps. What you are left with is Be Precious's Special Ribbed Tank. Perfect to be worn with any of our terrific hoddies during the spring summer, or under our woven blouses for extra warmth in the winter. You should definitely check out this top...a great staple to your wardrobe! Click here to see all the info!

Featured Product: Woven Blouses

We know how hard it is to find woven tops that combine fashion
and modesty, so we went ahead and came out with a few of our own! All our blouses will be sure to keep you modest and have a flair for fashion. Two of our favorites are the Woven Ruffled Top (left) and our French Cuff Tuxedo Shirt
(right). These blouses are good for formal or casual occasions. Dress them down with any of our terrific jean skirts, or add some flair to your formal outfit with a woven blouse under any of our sleeveless dresses. Button them up according to your comfort, or wear any of our sleeveless shells underneath to ensure you stay secure about modesty. There are many more where these came from...so come and check out all of our terrific blouses by clicking here.

A Message From The Head Designer

Hey, it's Lindy, the Head Designer from Be Precious here. Every month, I'll be blogging about new fashion trends and whats new and trendy in the market. More importantly, I'll be writing how to incorporate these fashion ideas into modest fashion, and if possible, give you links to our site so you can stay modest while staying in style!

A little about me: I've been working in the clothing industry for over 25 years, and currently work with L.A. Movers and Be Precious. Over the past few years, I've decided to dress more modestly and have been part of Be Precious since before it's creation. I hope that I can provide all of you a new look on modesty not only from someone who is in the fashion industry, but also who values modesty and dresses modestly as well.
So stay in touch, my December post is only days away!

All the best, and happy hollidays!
